Empathy helps in many ways when building a great product and experiences. Building empathy doesn't just mean that you should aim to create beautiful design or fulfill the basic need of the users. What's more important is that as a designer, you should discover the hidden or true need that's rooted in the user's daily tasks and life style. Something that we aren't able to find out from looking at quantitative data/metrics.

Facebook GAming Video

As a lead designer on the Gaming Video Discovery team, I successfully designed highly impactful projects such as Gaming Fan Groups, Stream Highlights, and many more small and big workstreams that contributed to the growth of Facebook Gaming. My responsibility was to help Quality Gaming Video Creators to sustainably and reliably grow on the Facebook Gaming Platform.

This role required me to understand Facebook App as a whole and to understand what teams like Events, Groups, Newsfeed, Live, Watch, Pages were working on because our Gaming Video touched every surface of the app. On most of the projects, I was required to have a deep understanding of the design system & evolving patterns and identify opportunities to collaborate with the teams I listed above while calling out the risk that our product might take during that process.

facebook Gaming Tournaments

On April 7, 2020, I helped launch the Facebook Gaming Tournaments product globally. This new product allowed gamers to create, manage and run offline and online gaming tournaments in a breeze. Unlike our competitors, we provided a full end-to-end experience with live streams, bracket system and a seamless mobile experience as well.

Through this experience and opportunity, I decided to join the Facebook Gaming team. Ever since I joined, I led the design by partnering closely with our tech lead in setting clear roadmap and to execute on many ambitious and tactical projects. Some of the highlights include the revamp of the entire end-to-end tournament creation experience, inventing the self-score reporting system and improving the tournaments home experience on Facebook Gaming.

As a design leader/PM-hybrid on the team, I took on extra responsibilities to reach alignment with other verticals like Events, Groups, Live and Watch to continue growing our product and experiences. Shortly after our product launch, we proved product-market-fit and continued to grow our product globally.

Facebook Ads Split (A/B) Testing

‍When I joined Facebook as a new grad, I rejoined the Measurement org but on a different product. I was responsible for building and improving the Split Testing tool which allowed marketers to run A/B testing for their ad campaigns to optimize their ad strategies. The product is embedded within the Facebook Ads Manager tool which is an essential place that marketers come day-to-day to setup, run and see the results for their ad campaigns.

On my first half on the team, I successfully delivered dozens of high quality features that drove over 500% increase in our ad revenue. My ability to quickly onboard on the product, self-identifying opportunities and effectively working with partners have contributed to the success of our new Iterative Testing product which allowed marketers to run experiment with ongoing campaigns. Due to the unprecedented and high quality work, I was granted the opportunity to present my work and the design process to the leadership.

For two years, I've led many successfully projects that continued to increase and scale our product. Ultimately, our team took on responsibilities to own all self-serve testing products. One of the major multi-halves project that I led had provided our team with a highly opportunistic (entrypoint and clean experience) future of testing in Ads Manager.

facebook - split testing

A successful marketing plan relies heavily on the pulling-power of advertising copy. Writing result-oriented ad copy is difficult, as it must appeal to, entice, and convince consumers to take action. There is no magic formula to write perfect ad copy; it is based on a number of factors, including ad placement, demographic, even the consumer’s mood when they see your ad.

facebook ads reach & Frequency

In the Summer of 2017, I interned at Facebook on the Ads Measurement team located in Seattle with the focus on a product called, Ads Reach & Frequency. In the span of three months, I designed and shipped a total of six projects which all aimed to provide marketers with meaningful and interactive data points for their ad campaigns.

One of my main project was called "Incremental Reach Curves" which aimed to solve the need for marketers to be able to see where they can efficiently reach future incremental people with their digital campaigns.

During my internship, I learned how to effectively work on a complex product which required detailed understanding of the space that I wasn't familiar with. By working closely with cross-functional partners, clearly stating the problems worth solving and sharing progresses on a meaningful step-by-step process, I was able to accomplish more than was asked with high quality.

linkedin conference app

There are hundreds and thousands of professional conferences across the globe. While a lot of people come to seek new insights, learn and present, a huge chunk of people also look for networking opportunities with other attendees.

However, initial discoveries were made that actually, there are some gaps in how attendees network with others not only during the conferences but also, before and after the conferences.

Therefore, the motivation to work on this project began there. Ultimately at the end, I came up with a product idea called, “LinkedIn Conference” and it was a decision I made based on the findings throughout my design process.
